Santa Fun

Today after church we headed to Moore's Mill to have a yummy brunch and hang out with the Big Elf himself!! The boys were beside themselves. Not only did we get to have lunch with some sweet friends but we got to talk to Santa and Ms. Claus and take some pics. I love watching the look in their eyes (especially Nathan, since he kinda "gets" the whole idea) as they watch the "magic" of Christmas unravel. Of course, having them know the TRUE meaning of Christmas is the most important thing....I will say this, I am a proud mom of a 6 year old who last week in church (during the children's moments) raised his hand and said, "Christmas is all about Jesus's birthday". I love moments like that!
My 3 handsome guys!!!!

Me and my littlest man!

The Reaves....sweet Anne Reynolds was asleep in her car seat so we didn't bother her for a family photo op.

Santa arrives!!!!

My little Rudolph!

We even ran into the Baker Family!

Deck the Halls!

Well, it's official.....the halls have been DECKED OUT!!!!! Nathan has been on my case since the week of Thanksgiving to start decorating for Christmas..........I have tried to tell him to let Thanksgiving have it's holiday moment, but to no avail I finally caved. The house is finally decorated and oh so merry! But that little stinker still says EVERYDAY........."mom, we need more decorations!" Um, I don't think so!!!! Not only is the inside decorated but we finally gave in on doing some trees outside of the house too.

Here is a little peek into our festive little home...................................

Ornaments on tree.............check!

Stockings hung by the chimney with care..................check!

The Nativity and the whole reason for the season...............check!

I had to share these little guys, they were given to me after my grandmother passed away some time ago. I LOVED them when I was little.
Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus...............check!

Our first ever artificial tree.......check!

Watching the joy in my children's eyes as they see it all comes together........check, check!

And then there is this little guy, Freddie as we so graciously named him last year. He returned to us this year from the North Pole on Thanksgiving day. And he brought the boys letters to Santa for them to fill out. Freddie's job is to watch the boys throughout the day and then report back to the big Elf every night. They love getting up in the mornings and finding out where he is hiding....and I might say, he sure does get creative.

So Fresh and So Clean!

We headed to the dentist this week with both boys. It was Wilson's first time, which was a little nerve racking, only because I didn't know how he would react. As for Nathan, he is an old pro by now.
While we waited to go back, we had lots of entertainment with the trains. This was definitely a plus for little man. He loves his trains and cars so there fore he thought....this place is pretty fun!

We let Nathan get in his chair first to show Wilson how he was supposed to do things. To let him know there was nothing to be scared of.

Wilson even "helped" with Nathan's cleaning......"Nate-Nate, open up, say AAHHH!"
My little monkey before his cleaning....after this pic, I left the room and he did it all by himself. He didn't want to lay back in the chair, so they just cleaned his teeth while he sat up. Whatever works, right?!?!?!?!?

And at the end of their appointments, they both received a golden token, which they could get a toy with. Even more fun!!!!

"I DO"..................

Believe that last night was one of the most beautiful weddings I have been too. Our sweet "KiKi" (Kristi) married one of the sweetest guys I have ever met...........Mac you better take care of her or Nathan may get you :). Kristi starting babysitting for us when Nathan was not even a year old and after Nate's short stint in daycare and all of the problems we ran into she so graciously offered to keep him full time for me when I was working. LOVE HER!!!!! She has been such a special part of my boys lives and they truly love her and think she hung the moon. (you too AA). Fun Fact: I babysat her and her sister when they were little girls. Now don't I feel OLD!!!!!
The little ring bearers before the rehearsal Friday night.

Patiently waiting for pictures.

The lovely bride and groom.

KiKi.....they love you more than you know :)

This little fella about put me over the edge. He's 2 yrs old and you just never know what he will do, especially when he is supposed to be quiet and still :)

Nathan & Kristi
Don't you LOVE her dress?!?!?!?!?

Picture time!!!!

Look at this gorgeous wedding party!!!!
Nathan was pretty much in love with EVERY bridesmaid!

And they lived Happily Ever After!!!!!

I am so mad at myself for not taking my camera in to the reception. It was such a fun party and the boys (and sweet cuz Stirling) tore the dance floor up!!!! I truly believe Nathan asked almost every bridesmaid plus the bride to dance. It was too cute.

A Little Taste of Vegas!!!

So, Rod and I just got back from a LONG weekend in Sin City!!!! And although I missed my babies like crazy.............I must say we had a blast. We went to Vegas with some dear friends of ours, the Holmes. That sweet couple have been quite a few times (15, I think) but this was only our 3rd time back. It was just as fun as the first couple of times, maybe even a little more. This year we stayed at the Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino. Here is a little peek at our little vacation. :)
Rod and I at Strip Steak, a restaurant in Mandalay Bay. We had just witnessed the horrendous Auburn game and decided we would just eat and drink the pain away ;)

Rod, myself, Rona and David at Caesar's.........just won a little $$ at the blackjack tables, so we were happy.

Our last night.........at the Bellagio before dinner.

Rona and David....check out the background. The Bellagio really does it up.

Just finished our dinner at Prime........best restaurant in Vegas. You can usually spot a celebrity or two but we missed out this year.

We had just missed the fountain show at Bellagio :(

OK.......these next couple of pictures need a little intro. If any of you watched America's Got Talent this year on NBC then you will know who these people are. At our hotel, Planet Hollywood, they do the America's Got Talent show, and the top 8 finalists put it on. After dinner we headed back to our hotel and their show was just finishing up, so some of the "stars" were out taking pics with people.

Myself and Recycled Percussion.....these guys have a pretty cool act. They use almost anything they can find or play on to make some pretty good music.

Rod and Grandma Lee..............she is a comedian. I believe she is like 80 years old and will crack you up.

Happy Anniversary!

November marks Dr. Jones's 20th anniversary since the opening of his practice in Atlanta. His sweet office staff sent out letters to some of his patients (pediatrics) asking us to help them make this special day memorable. They wanted pictures of our kids with Dr. Jones, notes, funny thoughts or silly drawings of ears or Dr. Jones....whatever our little one wanted to contribute.

After I explained all of this to Nathan, my little artist got to work. He worked so hard on his picture and is oh so very proud. I have added a picture of his "masterpiece" hope you like it, I thought he did a great job. Notice the ear on the operating table....this is supposed to be Nathan's new ear before Dr. Jones "put it on him". So this beautiful piece of art and a few pics we took of Nathan and Dr. Jones are on their way to Atlanta to be included in an honorary piece that will be displayed at his office. How cool is that?!?!?!? It will be so neat to see it on display when we go back in December for surgery #3.

Speaking of Nathan's ear............I have a funny story to share. Nathan went last Friday to get his hair cut (now remember, this isn't the first time he has had his hair cut since his surgeries, so where this came from I don't know) by our wonderful hair dresser Chris. As Chris was working on Nathan's hair, they were chatting about normal everyday stuff. As Chris moved to the right side of Nate's head to start trimming up that side Nathan quickly interrupted and with the most serious tone and expression said............"Be careful cutting by my ear, I just got it!". I thought Chris and I were going to roll on the ground laughing. Got to love a child's honesty! And I'm glad to know Nathan is going to be protective of that ear :)
