Nothing Better than a SURPRISE!!!!!

One week from today my sweet hubby, Rod, will be turning the BIG 4 -0!!!!! So what better way to celebrate than a good ole fashioned surprise party!!! I started planning this about a month ago, and boy, was it well worth it. The look on his face and his appreciation for it all was PRICELESS! Thank you to everyone that came out and helped us celebrate this "major" birthday. You guys made the night so fabulous, I couldn't have asked for anything more!

Now let me just tell you, he didn't make it easy. All day yesterday he was trying to figure out a way to stay home last night. He said he just wasn't in the "going out" mood. HELLO!!!! This was not the night to be feeling that way :) !!!!!! So after jumping through hoops all day, I finally got him there!!! We had a great night at one of our local restaurant (ZaZu), wine and beer, hors d'ouerves, live music and most importantly FRIENDS!!!!

Thank you Mom and Dad, Brad and Ali & Joe for ALL OF YOUR HELP!!!!! You guys ROCK!!!

Man of Many Hats

Last night after bath time, Rod and I were downstairs and we heard hysterical laughing coming from upstairs. So we tipped toed upstairs to see what we might find. For some reason the boys had taken EVERY hat they could find in Nathan's room and decided to wear them. It's amazing what kids can find to do for entertainment.

I guess I should say MEN of many hats! Nathan also donned a backpack and bandanna around his neck. Not sure what that was for but anywhoo, they were so funny running around switching hats and laughing at each other. Gotta love those boys!!!!!

Olympian in Training!!!

Nathan took part in a tumbling class this year at his school. We were pretty impressed with some of the things he learned to do. The last week of school, Ms. Shelley (his tumbling teacher) put on a mini Olympic show of what they had learned over the year. Nathan was so excited to show us his accomplishments.

They each got to pick out some of their favorite tricks to show the parents and at the end even received gold medals!! Thanks Ms. Shelley!

End of the Year.....

School year that is !!!!!

As most every other child in America, my boys both had sweet little programs at their schools. It is pretty obvious from these pictures, I have one little performer and one not so much. Both schools did a great job ending the year with a bang. Enjoy!

Wounded Weekend

Man, I have a lot of blogging to do..............but I MUST start with this!!!! This past Friday my sweet husband was playing basketball, as he always does 3 days a week. But this morning was a little different. He came down on his left ankle and "rolled it" as he described it. It didn't really seem to phase him at first BUT as the day went on...........let me just tell ya, I thought for sure he had broken something. After a quick trip to his friend, one of our local Orthopedists he assured us it was not broken and even said he could play b-ball again Monday morning.......YEAH RIGHT!!!

So as you can see, this foot belongs to ( and NO he doesn't normally look like he has Fred Flinstone feet)

Batter Up!!!!!

I cannot believe it has taken me this long to post about Nathan's tball season. It is his very first year to play and so far he seems to be enjoying it. Of course, his favorite part is batting and running the bases. The defensive part of it is "boring" to him. Hopefully he will grow to enjoy all aspects of the game of baseball............if not, there is always golf :)
