A Little Trick and A Little Treat!!!

Halloween has come and gone and my little spider and Spiderman are sad the festivities are over but not before I share some pictures. The boys loved their costumes this year. They would probably wear them everyday if I would let them. As you will see I didn't get a single pic of Nathan without that stinkin' mask on. Oh well, at least I know it's him and not someone else in the pics.

"Let's GO MOM!!!!!!

All the cousins!!

Making our way around the neighborhood. They would have trick or treated all night and into the next day if we would have let them.

"Let me see, which one do I want?"
**look close, I almost got a face shot of Nathan

Class Parties!!!

Just as everyone else's child in Auburn had a party this week to celebrate Halloween, SO DID WE!!! Wilson had his party on Thursday and it was hilarious seeing all of the little ones dressed up in there "mini" costumes. As you will soon see, Wilson was a spider -- this was to compliment his big brother's costume of Spiderman (pics of that to come in next post). Little Miss Stirling was a flapper girl, and might I say she was the cutest flapper girl I have ever seen.Heading to the party!!! Can you believe we got them to hold hands? :)

Some of our little class friends.

Mommy and her little spider. Only spider I will ever get close to :)

On Friday, Nathan's class had their party and beforehand they did a cute little performance for us. They did a "puppet" show based on the book Five Little Pumpkins. Nathan was the 5th pumpkin and said his line perfectly. So proud! After the performance, we made our way inside for the party.

Nate and Kaylin --sweet girl! They made their t-shirts in class, aren't they cute!?!?!?

Jack-O-Lantern Time!!!

Since the day we got our pumpkins I have heard, "when are we going to carve them?", 100 times a day. So finally the week of Halloween is here and it is time to put some faces on those big ole punkins!!! Our daddy got home early yesterday so we all got to join in on the carving fun.

Working diligently to get the "guts" out.

Wilson actually helped for .............30 seconds :)

I LOVE A Costume Party!!!!!

This past weekend some really fun couples gave a Halloween Costume Party at Skybar. And might I say................IT WAS A BLAST!!!!! Every single person that was invited and walked through those doors was dressed up and some people went ALL OUT!!! There were the Twilight characters, smurfs, Cowboys and Indians, Michael Phelps (speedo and all), Octomom, Lady Gaga, Disco kings and queens, some girl scouts and boy scouts and don't let me forget Mr. T. ......I could go on forever. We went as Pebbles and Bam-Bam and our sweet friends the Nappiers were a 50's Prom King and Queen. Great job everyone involved and thanks for the invite. Hope this tradition continues :)

Birthday Party Fun!

On Tuesday we had Nathan's 6th birthday party at Shakey's. The kids had a blast and Nathan loved every minute of spending time with some sweet friends. There are a lot of pics so sit back and enjoy the slide show.

The next night (his actual bday) we took him to his fave restaurant, Mikata, and on to his Nina and Papa's house for more birthday fun. He even got another cake, ice cream this time. Brad, Ali and the girls came to help celebrate. Sweet Stirling couldn't wait to give Nate his present, which I might say is definitely a favorite, and Baby Bradley also partook in the festivities. Rod and I decided it was time for him to have a "big boy" bike........i.e. NO TRAINING WHEELS. So pray for us. :)

We can't believe this little guy is not so little anymore. For some reason 6 years old sounds so old to me. Definitely not a baby anymore! Sad but exciting.

There's Nothing Sweeter Than Being 6!!!!!!!

Not much else to say about this guy EXCEPT.....................what a love and joy he is! I can't believe that 6 years ago today Rod and I were blessed with sweet Nathan. When he was born, we were 1st time parents who didn't know what to do with a baby and on top of that we were dealing with the "unknown" of his birth defect. But the past 6 years have been nothing but fun and exciting with him. We have been through tons of obstacles with him and are preparing for more ahead but I would not trade him for the world. I thank God everyday for blessing us with such a sweet, compassionate, loving child.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATHAN!!!!

LET'S TAKE A WALK DOWN MEMORY LANE..........................1st Birthday (we called Nathan "Nemo" with his little ear, so we had a Nemo cake)

2nd birthday.....we had discovered Aubie by this point.

3rd Birthday...........Halloween Hayride.

4th Birthday......Fishing party at Nina and Papa's house.

5th Birthday.....Bowling with friends

6th Birthday...........and this year, a pizza party at Shakey's! Isn't the cake amazing?

*****more party pics to come!

A Sea Turtle and Some Discipline

Two stories from our beach trip I must share with you. More so I won't forget them and I will have them documented but secondly for your entertainment.
The first full day we were at the beach, Nathan discovered his love of sea life. He, his dad and his Uncle spent some time out in the ocean..."man bonding" and came across his first sea creature. Which was the dreaded jellyfish.....Rod quickly took the net they had and scooped it out of the water, taking it the sand so Nate could investigate (from a distance, I might add). The funniest thing about it was that after he was done scoping it out, he told his dad " alright I'm done, you can put it back in the ocean". Rod tells him, "no buddy, this thing can really hurt someone, we'll just leave it out on the sand so no one gets stung." To which Nate replies "that poor jellyfish probably has a mom or dad that is looking for it and it deserves to live". So of course, Rod scooped it back up and marched it back out into the water. A pretty good ways down from where we were. Got to love my little "animal" lover.

The next day, Nathan and my mom were walking on the beach and he came across a baby sea turtle. I wish you could have seen him sprinting up the beach towards us with that sweet little turtle in his hands......he was so proud. It was priceless.

I promise we let it go......once again Rod marched out into the water to let this little guy go too.
Second story..........As we are all sitting around enjoying our afternoon cocktails, we hear sweet Stirling saying "Wilson, hold face.....No No!" over and over again. We look over and she is in the middle of some major disciplining of her cousin. Not sure what he was doing that she didn't like, but she sure had it under control.

I believe she had taken some pointers from me.....lately when Wilson needs a little talking to, I ask him to "hold mommy's face". It gives me somewhat of his undivided attention and he also knows I mean business. I guess she wanted to do it in her own way :). Got to love 2 year olds.
