Stage 1, Post-Op week 1

Well WE DID IT!!!! We survived the 1st week after surgery. We are becoming a little stir crazy being at the house so much, but all of the fun gifts everyone has dropped by are definitely coming in handy.
Today was the BIG DAY.....bandage removal day! FINALLY, I got to put some shampoo to that nasty head of Nathan's and give it a good washing :). Of course, we were even more excited about seeing the ear. It's still swollen a pretty good bit, BUT you can definitely see the new ear under all the swelling. As the swelling goes down you will begin to see the ridges that are throughout the outer ear. Before you scroll down to look at the pic let me remind you that this is a 4 stage surgical process. And we are just on stage 1. Right now it looks like his "little" ear is sitting on top of the new ear. AND THAT IS WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE :) The 2nd stage of surgery is called "earlobe repositioning", this is where they will take Nathan's "little" ear and reposition it to be his "new" earlobe. Right now we are pleased with the results and Nathan is getting more excited about the finished product in the near future.
Your prayers are still greatly appreciated as the healing process continues on. 2nd Stage surgery is scheduled for Sept. 1st. Can you believe it, that is only 2 months away.

***excuse the wet head look, this pic was taken right after his bath :)
