Trick Or Treat.........

SMELL MY FEET! GIVE ME SOMETHING GOOD TO EAT!!!!!

BATMAN AND ROBIN 2008

I think that is how that childhood rhyme goes. Anywho!!!! Halloween this year was fun for both kids. Wilson actually enjoyed going to peoples doors and Nate was more than happy to help him get his candy. (That just means more for him, right?) We lasted for about an hour and a half and then little man was begging for "night, night" and his bunny. Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Batman is ready to go!

This is where Robin, aka Wilson was happiest!

Jack-O-Lantern Time!

It's that time again. To take those pumpkins we found at the pumpkin patch and give them a face. Nathan, Daddy and I had a fun little afternoon giving our pumpkins some personality. Nate picked out which stencils he wanted and off we went. I think they turned out pretty good.

Notice the concentration! But he wouldn't dare stick his hand into the goop, only the spoon.

The finished project! Look how proud he is.

If you can't tell, the one to your left is a ghost. Cool, huh?

Costume Craziness!

This past weekend we were invited to a fun fall get together at Town Creek Park. The Muncies, Thames, and McDonalds did an excellent job putting this fun outing together. The boys had fun making their debut as Batman and Robin. Nate is still wondering "who exactly is Robin anyways?". The weather couldn't have been more perfect and it was so fun seeing all of the little ones dressed in costume. Enjoy!

The Infamous Group Shot --- Try this with a million toddlers!

Batman & Robin. They may kill us when they are older but it's cute for now.

"How did you know what I was wearing?!?!?"
Little Mackenzie and Stirling as poodle girls.

Batman & Dorothy, aka Isabel, the girlfriend!

Boy wonder himself and the only shot I will probably ever get with the mask. :)

Sweet Thomas, Bam-Bam

Little Prather clowning around.

The little angel, Calli Ann

Normally Stirling loves her cousin Nathan. But today she is not quite sure!

And the above picture ended like this. Sorry sweet baby girl, he didn't mean to scare you!

Happy Happy Birthday!!!! He is 5!

5 years ago last Tuesday, God blessed Rod and myself with this precious 6 lb, 5 oz baby boy. We so proudly gave him the name, Nathan Bradley Foster. What a joy he has been to us, and that includes our entire extended family. Friends and all.
Nathan, you are such a sweet, kind-hearted little boy. You have a special quality about you, you know when people need just a little extra love and you always give it to them. You are a huge mamma's boy ( and oh how I love that), let's see how long it lasts. You love to do creative things and play baseball in the back yard with dad. You love the little girls ( which your dad thinks is pretty cool) and older girls. You are the best big brother, always gentle with Wilson and very protective. Your daddy and I are so proud to call you ours.

Nate, 3 months

This past weekend we celebrated as any little 5 year old would want to celebrate. AT THE BOWLING ALLEY!!!! WHOO-HOO! It was such a cute party. We had a great turn out and Nathan was so excited to be the "man of the hour". I did a slide show b/c there were soooooo many pics to choose from. If you have time check out all of them. You can speed it up by using the plus sign in the bottom corner of the slide show, and if you want to know a little bit about the cuties in the pics just roll your mouse over the pic and it will give you a caption.

And as all birthdays go, the celebration continued on to Tuesday ( his actual bday). We took a cookie cake to school and he got to celebrate with all of his school friends, some for the 2nd time.

That night we let him choose his restaurant of choice----- MIKATA, our local Japanese steak house (my favorite as well). The whole fam attended and then we went to Nina and Papa's for cake once again and more presents.

YOU ONLY TURN 5 ONCE, RIGHT!?!?!?!?

Check out all the loot!

Nathan Update!

Thanks to everyone who has called or sent emails. I couldn't call everyone back so I figured I would just post yesterdays events on here. This will hopefully cover everybody who is interested. :)
The trip to UAB yesterday was very informative. We met with a geneticist by the name of Dr. Lose. He was a very nice guy and spent some good quality time with all of us. My mom, aunt, Rod, myself and Nathan filled up that examining room pretty good. He did a facial exam on Nate, then moved to me and on to my aunt. (Reminder: She was born with Mictrotia/Atresia also) After examining us he believes that what Nate probably has is a syndrome called Treacher Collin's. This syndrome is caused by changes in the gene on chromosome 5 which affects facial development. 1 in 10,000 babies are born with it, and there is a 50% chance of passing it down to future generations. If this is what he has, as he grows it should NOT get any worse.
They are presenting Nathan's case and pictures on Tuesday to a genetics conference and we may be contacted by their Cranio-Facial expert. We will not be doing any kind of invasive testing at this time. Just exams and talking about our future plans.
The concern in the future is that with this kind of syndrome you have to worry about the future children in our family ( more kids, grandkids, great grandkids, etc). As the gene continues to pass down to generations the characteristics and defects become more severe. This is something that Nate, Wilson, possibly Stirling and all the other kids we are blessed with will have to know about when they start thinking about having kids.
I know this is alot, and I could go on with more info but I won't bore you. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers. We are so blessed to have such caring friends. God is good!!

Third Times the Charm

Well as most of you might remember, we have been trying to get up to UAB with Nathan for the past 3 months. The genetics team there wants to see us and talk to us about a possible syndrome. (If you want to catch up on that story go to my archives, I believe it is in the Aug. one.) The first attempt was thwarted by Hurricane Faye, tornadoes all over Alabama. We made it to Alex City and had to turn around. The second attempt was done in by the nasty stomach bug that was going around Auburn. I think 3 out of the 5 of us that were going to the appt had it. So that lands us where we are now. We are scheduled to leave in the morning around 8:00, our appt is at 10:30, so if any of you can take a moment and say a quick prayer for our safe travel and good outcome, I would greatly appreciate it. I will update everyone to what the Drs. say when I have a chance.

P.S. 5th Bday highlights coming soon!!!! Can you believe Nate is already 5?

War Eagle, Why?

Because no matter how bad our favorite team is playing, we want these little boys to grow up to love Auburn just as much as we do. Auburn might not have showed up to play this season, but us Fosters are still cheering them on.

We took Nathan and our sweet neighbor (we like to call her our adopted daughter) Rosemary, along with Uncle Bo and Cameron to the AU game this weekend. It was Nate's first game of the season. I think he really enjoyed it. Of course he got tired pretty quickly, but we ended up staying all the way until the 4th quarter. Why? I don't know, I guess b/c it was like watching a train wreck, you just had to see what was going to happen next.

Anyway it was a great time to make some memories, so enjoy the pics. Looking on the bright side....................we always have AU swimming!!! :) WAR EAGLE!!!
"What do you mean I'm not going to the game?"

Rosemary & Nathan, ready to go!

Cameron and Nate at the fish pond beside Foy Union

A little cotton candy and popcorn never hurt anyone!?!?!?

Here come the Auburn Tigers!!!!! Cheer 'em on Nate!

Daddy and Nathan, notice the forced smile on Rod's face. Not too happy with AU.

Rosemary & Myself

On the way home. Obviously Nathan & Cameron had no clue AU lost.

The Great Pumpkin Adventure!

We went to the pumpkin patch in Lafayette yesterday with a bunch of wonderful friends. It was a fun day, but the only description I can give is HOT, HOT, HOT!!!!!! It had to be the hottest day we have had in a long time. The babies all did great, I think the momma's were the most uncomfortable. We had all dressed for a nice, cool fall day. Yeah Right!!!!!

Getting ready for the hayride!

Soccer Star.........Maybe?

Monday night was one of Nathan's soccer games. They are too funny to watch. Imagine 4-6 yr olds running around after the same ball, falling down, trying to score. It's pretty comical. Not to mention when they do score a goal, their reaction is priceless. And of course if you are my son, you immediately run to the sidelines and find mom for a hug. I love it!!!!! I am not so sure we have a soccer star on our hands but right now he seems to be enjoying it. I will have to say he scored 2 goals during this game!
P.S. His Papa's business is sponsoring the team, so notice the endorsement. (**Thanks dad and Matt C. for the donation)

Go #3!!!! We love you!

Doesn't he look cute in his uni?

And then there was this problem......how do you keep a 20 month old off the fields during the games? Thank goodness they were actively trying to get the ball in the other goal at this moment.

Corner Kick!!! Is that the right term?

Patiently waiting to go back into the game.

Let's hope they are talking strategy!!! Yeah, right?

Nate and Matthew C., best buds!
